Background: Alex, as referred to by her friends, is the Legacy member most responsible for researching valuable information. She is often found in the control room knee deep in research with a computer and piles of books to help in her queries. Aside, from being an active member of the Legacy Alex is also a community activist and social worker.

Of Creole descent and raised in Louisiana by her Grandmother Rose, along side her older sister Tanya, Alex was brought up aware of paranormal existence. The sisters have the gift of sight but Alex's gift is much more potent which according to Tanya makes her their grandmother's favorite. This in turn hurts Alex somewhat because she knows it distances her from her sister who resents her for it. This small rift between the sisters causes problems for Alex when Tanya becomes involved with Daniel Euware. A sorcerer keen on stealing Alex's family magic by deceiving them into thinking he's a Shaman intent on helping people. He is a source of trouble for Alex on more than one occasion in the second he causes greater pain as Alex loses her Grandmother in a battle with Euware. Her connection with her family and their history also makes Alex susceptible to certain family ghosts as she was when confronted with the history of La Belle. Little is known of Alex's parents other than they have been gone from her life since she was a child.

Alex attended Loyola University it was there that she met Derek, exact circumstances unknown, and he introduced her to the Legacy. It was her gift of the sight that first drew Derek to her but after getting to know her better her other gifts became clear. Her relationship with Derek has always been close but how close has always been somewhat of a mystery. She has admitted feeling more for him in the past and has even called their relationship complicated. Their relationship has been tested on several occasions as Derek tests her strength and capacity. On one occasion leaving her behind to finish a task she had begun by placing Slum lord Kyle Vance under house arrest in a haunted apartment building. Alex may have passed this test but the result was a minor strain in her relationship with Derek. This along with a few other wild card moments allowed the Dark side to cause doubt in Alex's trust in Derek. As in a momentary lapse in judgment she fell prey to its plan to destroy the Legacy from within by making Derek appear guilty and then replacing him with its own Dark agent.

However, her susceptibility to the Dark side for Derek's downfall was not her first run in with it. She had been tempted failingly by Daniel Euware but more convincingly by her old college roommate. Sealed with a bite was Alex's close call in the vampire world when she returned to Louisiana for her class reunion. Luckily, the team's quick thinking was able to save her and return her for good to the land of the living and bloodless meals.

Alex's biggest pain, however, came not in almost losing Derek or falling to the dark side but in losing her best friend Julia. Next to Derek, Julia was her closest associate within the Legacy. Together they shared laughs and tears which made her loss to the Demon in Ireland more unbearable than she thought could ever come to her. At times, she still feels guilty at having not been there with her friend. She cannot help but think that if she had been in Ireland perhaps Julia would not have died as she would not have walked into that shop alone.

Still, Alex is not one to let her pains hold her down. She is strong, optimistic and believes now more than ever that the work the Legacy does is the right path for her.
